So many times, people ask, “God, why do I have to suffer?” “Why is there so much suffering in the world?”
The truth is—God never meant for us to suffer. From the very beginning, He was clear in His Word, the Bible, about how mankind could live a life of peace and harmony. Deuteronomy, chapters 11 and 28 lay it out beautifully: if we worship Him, honor Him, and walk in His ways, we would experience a life of provision, peace, and prosperity.
All we had to do was accept Him as our God and live by His precepts—His commandments and statutes. These weren’t rules to restrict us or keep us from joy. They were divine guidelines meant to help us thrive and live in alignment with His love and order.
In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve weren’t told they couldn’t enjoy a relationship with God or access His wisdom. They weren’t forbidden from enjoying the beauty around them. The enemy deceived them into thinking they were missing something—something God had actually already provided. God had given them Eden. Everything they needed was there. They had a beautiful, intimate relationship with Him. He walked and talked with them. He gave them purpose, authority, and stewardship over all creation. They were in divine partnership with their Creator.
But when they listened to the lie, when they opened the door to deception, sin entered—and with it, every form of evil.
That’s why the world isn’t what it was meant to be.
From that moment, God has continually reached out to humanity through His Word, trying to help us understand His heart and return to relationship with Him. But over and over, people have chosen their own way—chasing after the desires of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.
Is anything different today?
We’re still running after everything but God. Yet everything we need is found in Him. Period.
There will be suffering in this world because we live in a fallen, broken world. There will be offense, hurt, abuse, violence—that’s the world’s way. But here's the powerful truth: you can live in a fallen world and not live in a fallen state.
You can be surrounded by suffering, and yet not be the one who suffers. You can face trials without being overtaken. You can encounter unkindness and still choose to be kind. You can carry hope in the middle of hopelessness. In fact, you can be the light that shines in the darkness. You can be the one God uses to show others the way through.
Let God open your eyes and show you who He is. Partner with Him, and you’ll discover a hope that never fades. Step out of hopelessness and into divine hopefulness.
Today can be your turnaround day. It’s up to you. If you let Him in, He will change your life. That doesn’t mean you won’t face challenges. But the difference is—you won’t face them alone. You’ll know that you're going to make it because the One who gives hope has already gone ahead of you.
Micah 2:13 calls Him “The Breaker.” He’s the God who breaks through. He makes a road for you in the desert. He opens up what was closed. He clears the path ahead.
So, if you’ve never allowed God into your heart, or if it’s been a while since you turned back to Him—I encourage you: come home. Return.
When you feel hopeless, remember: God is hope. He is your destiny. And when you partner with Him, there’s no way you can fail.
I bless you today, dear one, in every situation and circumstance you’re facing. May God overtake you with His love. May His blessings pour down right where you are. May you experience divine turnarounds and breakthroughs like never before. May your spirit rise up and bless His name.
And like David, may you say:
“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name.” (Psalm 103:1-2)
I bless you today—and I thank God that your tears are being wiped away as you remember the God of Hope, your Breaker, the One who has already gone before you. Because He’s gone before you, you no longer have to carry that burden alone. You’ve already broken through the gate.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
A Prayer of Repentance and Salvation
If you're ready to give your life to Jesus or return to Him, pray this with all your heart:
Heavenly Father,
I come to You today just as I am. I acknowledge that I’ve sinned, and I need Your forgiveness. I’ve tried to do life my own way, but today, I turn to You.
I believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe He died on the cross for my sins and rose again so I could have new life.
Lord Jesus, I invite You into my heart. Be my Savior. Be my Lord. Wash me clean. Make me whole. Fill me with Your Spirit and lead me every day of my life.
Today, I choose to follow You. I surrender my past, my pain, my plans, and my future into Your hands.
Thank You for loving me. Thank You for saving me.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
